Moonfrost beginner guide: start with the game’s own guidance
Moonfrost puts you in the role of a Frost Hunter, someone who can use the mysterious substance left by icy meteorites to rebuild a shattered world. Your first useful goal is to learn the tasks the game actually presents to you. Read the opening dialogue and current objectives before applying advice from an older demo or another farming game.
The official description confirms gathering, growing crops, fishing, cooking, crafting and home decoration. It does not provide a verified day-by-day tutorial, crop profit table, tool upgrade route or keybind list. This guide therefore helps you organize those confirmed activities without pretending to know an optimal first day.
Keep one project in mind: a piece of your home, a visible village restoration objective or a crafting goal shown by the game. Once you know what that project asks for, use its actual requirements to decide what to gather. This avoids stockpiling materials for a recipe that may not exist in your current version.
If an in-game objective or requirement differs from this plan, follow the game. Early Access updates can change content and progression. We have not played through this release or measured an optimal route.
A checklist for your first session
Use these prompts when you want a little structure. They are planning tasks, not mandatory quest steps. Ticks stay on this open page only; reloading clears them.
Pack your first-session plan
If you prefer to explore without a plan, that fits the developer’s description of a relaxing single-player world. There is no verified requirement here to rush every system in one session.
Connect gathering, crafting and rebuilding
The basic activity loop is useful to understand even without a list of recipes: choose something you want to build or restore, inspect the game’s requirements, collect the needed resources, and use the available crafting or building tools to work toward it. Recheck the objective after each meaningful change.
Farming is one part of that loop, not the only reason to play. The official store also describes fishing, cooking, exploration and an expanding collection of recipes for tools, decorations, outfits and hairstyles. Select activities according to your actual objective rather than assuming crops always offer the fastest progression.
Build Mode is described as allowing you to design, construct and decorate a home wall by wall. It is reasonable to start with a small design you can understand, then expand as you discover more blueprints. That is an organizational suggestion; this site has not verified building costs, refund rules or whether a particular design is reversible.
Before spending a scarce resource, look at the current in-game interface for the cost and result. We cannot promise that selling, dismantling or replacing an item returns its materials. Avoid treating a screenshot from an earlier build as an instruction for the present one.
Make room for the village
Village restoration and relationships are both central to the game’s premise. The current Early Access listing says you can restore several village businesses, build homes for several villagers and meet 11 villagers. It does not name every available business or give a verified order for unlocking them.
For a relaxed session, alternate a practical project with a conversation or an exploration goal. Read what characters tell you and let the game reveal their stories. This is not a gift schedule: no favorite gifts, friendship point values or daily dialogue rewards have been verified for this guide.
Friendships are currently capped at level 3. If your goal is to see every friendship event or romance route, check the current relationship limits first. The full release plans to unlock all friendship events and romance options; that plan is not evidence that those options are already available.
Balance cosy projects with temple exploration
Moonfrost includes dangerous temples alongside its calmer activities. The Early Access Q&A lists the first 20 rooms of the temple as available. That number defines the currently advertised scope; it does not tell us enemy patterns, room layouts or a guaranteed equipment requirement.
If you want to explore, use the game’s own combat and equipment guidance. Check what your current gear does and what the game says about entering a dangerous area. We have not verified death penalties, checkpoints, consumable effects or a room-by-room strategy, so none is presented as fact here.
If you prefer building or farming, choose those activities instead of interpreting this guide as an instruction to clear the temple immediately. The developer describes the game as a single-player experience at your own pace. A checklist should support your preferred session, not turn an unverified strategy into a rule.
Recognize an Early Access limit
The current game offers the first half of its main storyline, not the complete story. When you reach the advertised story, temple or friendship boundary, first compare it with the current store Q&A and recent official updates. You may have reached available content rather than missed a hidden task.
The developers say they intend to add the whole main story in less than six months, but also say Early Access could last longer. Do not turn that statement into a fixed completion date. For current-versus-planned details, use our Early Access overview.
What should I do if something seems broken?
Check the current official updates and Steam discussions for a matching issue. If you report a problem, describe the build, what you did, what you expected and what happened. Do not share passwords or account secrets. This site is independent and cannot inspect your save or provide developer support.
Where are the exact crop, recipe and gift tables?
Not in this guide: the available official materials do not verify those values for the current release. Publishing a made-up table would be less useful than leaving that gap clear. Use the game’s current descriptions while those details remain unverified.
