Moonfrost Early Access: what is included now?

The developer’s Steam Q&A says the main gameplay systems are already in and describes dozens of hours of content. That is a developer statement, not an independently timed playthrough. The more useful buying information is the specific content it lists:

Current Steam Early Access scope, checked October 13, 2026
AreaAvailable nowBoundary or future plan
Main storyThe entire first halfFull 1.0 plans to complete the storyline
TempleFirst 20 roomsNo verified complete-release room count
VillagersMeet and befriend 11Friendship capped at level 3
VillageRestore several businesses and build homes for several villagersFurther locations and villagers are planned, not itemized here
Your homeBuild and decorate a homeNo verified final catalogue or building limit
CraftingHundreds of furniture/decor blueprint collectiblesIndividual recipes and drop locations are not verified here

These are scope descriptions, not a promise that every feature is polished or that your progress will be bug-free. Steam explicitly warns that Early Access games are incomplete and may or may not change further. Make your decision based on the current version rather than the desired 1.0 version.

The official description also lists farming, fishing, cooking, resource gathering, gear customization and dangerous temples. The Q&A does not explain every progression requirement. Our beginner guide helps organize those activities without inventing unlock steps.

Friendships and romance have different current limits

You can currently meet and befriend 11 villagers, with friendships capped at level 3. This means a guide promising every character’s complete friendship story would overstate the release. The current official material does not supply a complete gift-preference table or confirm every friendship event at each level.

The developers describe the full 1.0 version as unlocking all friendship events and the option to romance all their bachelors. We treat that as a future plan. It does not justify saying that every romance route is playable now, or that a particular character is currently romanceable.

If relationships are your main reason to buy, ask whether you would enjoy meeting the current cast within that level cap. If you want complete relationship arcs, waiting may better fit your goal. We cannot give a confirmed date for a specific romance feature.

Release date, Early Access duration and price

The Steam listing and current store API show October 12, 2026 as the release date. That is the Early Access launch, not a full 1.0 release. The developer says it plans to add the whole main storyline in less than six months, while also allowing for a longer Early Access period if more content is added in response to feedback.

No confirmed 1.0 date.

The “less than six months” statement is a development intention. This site does not convert it into a guaranteed launch date or countdown.

Moonfrost is a paid game in the current Steam listing. The Q&A says the game is cheaper during Early Access and that the price will likely increase as content is added. “Likely” matters: we do not publish an exact future price or a claim that purchasing now guarantees a saving.

Use the official Steam page for your currency, current promotion, available purchase option and recent reviews. Regional prices and sale windows change; a copied price can mislead a reader in another region.

The developer website still contains some demo/pre-release wording. Its FAQ also includes the same Early Access plans as the Steam Q&A. Where that older wording conflicts with launch status, this guide follows the current Steam listing for the Steam product. We have not verified the current availability or content parity of a separate demo.

Platforms, controller support and multiplayer

The Steam API lists Windows support and does not list native Mac or Linux support. It lists single-player, full controller support and Steam Cloud. Full controller support is a store feature label, not evidence that a particular handheld runs the game well.

The developer FAQ says the team is focusing on Windows PC first, with no current plans for mobile. It describes Moonfrost as a single-player experience. We do not promise multiplayer, console ports, a native Mac version or Steam Deck verification.

The website mentions Steam and Epic Games Store. This guide verifies the Steam app, not Epic’s launch status, pricing or save compatibility. Before buying elsewhere, consult that store’s current listing. To compare a Windows PC with the published minimums, use the PC field check.

Does Moonfrost still use blockchain or NFTs?

The current developer FAQ directly addresses this history. It says the team explored blockchain technology during early development, then decided to move away from it and focus on a premium PC game. That is the current official explanation checked for this guide.

Older articles or promotional descriptions may therefore describe a direction that no longer represents the product. Do not use an old “play-to-earn” claim as a description of the current Steam release. This site offers no token purchase, wallet connection, financial transaction or earnings advice.

This FAQ statement does not constitute an audit of historical assets or third-party offers. If you encounter someone selling an asset or asking you to connect a wallet, do not treat this unofficial game guide as endorsement. Follow current official product information and distinguish it from unrelated third-party claims.

Is the current version a good fit for you?

Consider the current version if its confirmed activities—home building, village restoration, farming, crafting and the available story/temple content—already sound worth your time and current price. Expect an incomplete game and read recent official updates before committing.

Consider waiting if your priority is the complete main story, all relationship events, fully developed romance options or a platform that is not currently supported. Waiting for actual release notes is more reliable than buying on an assumed future feature.

We have not tested stability, save behavior, endgame longevity or performance in this release. No claim of a developer-described number of hours should replace the specific content limits above. The right choice depends on what you want to do now, rather than a universal “buy” score.

Will my Early Access save carry into 1.0?

The materials checked for this guide do not confirm a save-compatibility guarantee. We do not promise there will be no wipes or changes. Check current developer updates before relying on long-term progress.

How do I follow updates or give feedback?

The developer invites feedback through its Discord, Steam discussions and official social channels. Start from the official Steam listing or developer FAQ to find those links; this independent site cannot deliver a bug report to the team for you.
